This week, only one new game is being added to the North American Virtual Console. Nintendo Wii U owners will be able to pick up Lost in Shadow. This Hudson Soft game originally appeared on the Wii in Japan, Europe, and Australia in 2010, followed by a 2011 North American release.

After a young boy’s shadow is ripped from him and the child taken away, the shadow must climb a tower to reunite with the boy and make himself whole again. Since he’s a shadow, he can only interact with the shadows of things in the real world and fight other shadows. Fortunately, a Spangle the sylph can manipulate light, causing shadows to shift and new paths and opportunities to open to the boy’s shadow.

Lost in Shadow is $19.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.
