Last week, we talked about a independent visual novel that had a little in common with MangaGamer’s Go! Go! Nippon! Love Language Japanese Year 1 Gentlemen Edition is a planned visual novel with dating sim and educational elements designed to help people learn Japanese. It’s being developed by Paprika.moe, is on Steam Greenlight, and will soon receive a Kickstarter in the hopes of funding additional content. However, it recently came to light that Love Language Japanese Year 1 Gentlemen Edition strongly resembles an existing visual novel called Anata no Koto o Suki to Iwasete, from Praline and Will Plus.

Some suspected this was a case of stolen assets. However, Paprika.moe has come forward to resolve the resemblance issue. Will Plus and Paprika.moe are working together to create Love Language Japanese Year 1. The developer has full permission from Praline to use the assets, due to the coproduction. The storyline will be completely original, as will be the gameplay, but art will be taken directly from Anato no Koto o Suki to Iwasete.

Paprika.moe will be launching a Love Language Japanese Year 1 Kickstarter in the future to help fund voice acting, additional minigames, and an additional character.
