Clear River Games and Taito announced that the first two Lufia games originally released on the SNES will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC in 2027. These will appear together in a bundle called Lufia I & II The Sinistrals Saga. There will also be physical copies for consoles.
As the name suggests, we will get the original RPG Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, which follows a descendant of a legendary hero as he heads out with his childhood friend Lufia, a warrior named Aguro, and an archer named Jerin as they face the returning Sinistrals who threaten humanity. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals actually goes back and tells the story of the original hero Maxim, his wife Selan, and his allies Artea and Guy as they face the Sinistrals the first time around.
Details about new quality of life additions or features for this upcoming version of Lufia I & II The Sinistrals Saga weren’t shared just yet. Likewise, we don’t know what the physical release could look like. A first trailer did appear as part of the TGS 2026 reveals, as did some initial screenshots. First, here’s the initial announcement video.

One of the last Lufia games we saw was Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals. That was a DS remake of the second game. It essentially involved a retelling of the title and its story, which also meant a genre shift that turned it from a turn-based title to action-RPG.
