After a few posts in English and Japanese announcing its recent creation, the Macross: Shooting Insight shared more details about the game’s setting. The story starts by following Macross 7’s main character, Maximillian Jenius, just after the Battle 7 ship crashes in an accident where he got sent to the future.

The game will present a crossover plot featuring many of the most recognizable characters from across the franchise’s movies, manga, and tv series. More specifically, they will join together in order to rescue the series’ songstresses like Sara Nome, Ranka Lee, and Freyja Wion. On the other hand, some of the pilots confirmed are Shin Kudo, Gamlin Kizani, and Hayate Immelmann from Macross Zero, Macross 7, and Macross Delta.

The game was first announced in January 2023 as one of the first titles for the newly established Bushiroad Games. It was described as a “novel shoot ‘em up” to be released on the Switch, PS4, and PC. The PS5 release was only just confirmed.

Macross: Shooting Insight will launch on Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. The game is scheduled for release in 2023, although no date has yet been confirmed.
