Made in Abyss Season 2 Promo Focuses on New Characters

Kadokawa has released a short trailer advertising Made in Abyss season 2. The full title is Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun. Aside from a trailer, there is also a new key visual showing off the new characters. Made in Abyss season 2 will air in 2022, though it does not list the exact release date.

The trailer starts with the group at sea during a storm before they come across an island. The new characters for this season — Vueko, Belaf, Wazukyan, and Faputa — all make appearances, showing off their personalities in conversation. The voices for the new characters are:

  • Vueko: Yuka Terasaki (Tenma from Inazuma Eleven Go, Kudelia from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)
  • Belaf: Mitsuki Saiga (Shindou from Inazuma Eleven Go, Protagonist from Dragon Quest XI)
  • Wazukyan: Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji from One Piece, Kotetsu from Tiger and Bunny)
  • Faputa: Misaki Kuno (Klee from Genshin Impact, Sophia from Persona 5 Strikers)

The second season will be a direct continuation from the first. Made in Abyss follows the story of Riko, who wants to follow in her missing mother’s footsteps and explore the depths of the Abyss. Upon meeting a robot she names Reg, the two of them decide to help him regain his memories in the Abyss.

Made in Abyss season 2 will air in 2022. Its CERO Z-rated video game, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC worldwide in 2022 as well.
