The Mall of America Bandai Namco Cross Store and Gundam Base locations will not open on September 30, 2026 as planned. Bandai Namco announced a last minute delay for both. There’s no updated launch window, but the company did only refer to this as both being “postponed” and that it intends to open both to sell anime and game merchandise and model kits in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The first US Bandai Namco Cross Store is open in Brooklyn, New York at Industry City Building 4. These retail locations feature game merchandise based on series like Pac Man, anime items like the One Piece Card Game or figures, Gunpla model kits, and Gashapon machines. This location also features some arcade elements like cabinets. The Mall of America location, when it does open, would be the second in the US.
As for The Gundam Base, these are stores completely dedicated to the anime series, games, and model kits. That also means the can be the home of exclusive items. The Mall of America one would be the second US store as well. The first opened in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago mall in 2025.
