Mario Kart 7 Uses 3DS Gyro Sensors For First-Person Kart Driving

Mario Kart 7 will put players in the drivers seat with a new first-person kart driving mode. Select this mode and you’ll control the kart using the Nintendo 3DS’ gyro sensors.

Lakitu is also seen in the game as a playable character, another first for the series. Plus there is a power up that changes characters into liquid metal. Think Super Mario 64 Metal Mario, but in Mario Kart.

 

Mario Kart 7 comes out on December 4 in North America, a few days after its December 1 launch in Japan.
