Nintendo has announced a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe competition on Twitter that could give anyone in North America a chance to win Gold Points they can spend in the eShop. On September 22, 2019, the Mario Kart North American Open will begin, and the top eight racers will get 2,500 Gold Points ($25).

People in North America can enter and join the competition now by entering the “2093-5045-4827” tournament code into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They will then be registered for the 150cc race. It will be available for a fixed period, no smart steering will be allowed, all vehicles can be used, normal items will be available, no COM or teams will be used, and a 24 race count will be used. The group will be shuffled every fourth match. Also, you don’t need any particular player rating to participate.

The actual Mario Kart North American Open will be held between 10am PT and 8pm PT (1pm ET and 11pm ET) on September 22, 2019. The in-game ranking system will help determine the eight top players. The official rules noted that, on or around September 27, 2019, the eight winners will receive an email notification letting them know they have won the 2,500 Gold Points.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available for the Nintendo Switch.
