Link from the Legend of Zelda series is joining Mario Kart 8 as a downloadable crossover character. In November, Nintendo will release a Legend of Zelda X Mario Kart 8 DLC pack that adds Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and Link plus four vehicles and eight courses split into two cups. One of the courses is a Legend of Zelda themed track and a Blue Falcon kart from the F-Zero series is one of the new vehicles. Classic courses like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii available in DLC packs.
In May 2015, another Mario Kart 8 crossover with Animal Crossing will be ready. This adds the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing as playable characters plus Dry Bowser. The Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 package also has four new vehicles and eight more courses (one Animal Crossing themed) in two cups.
Each pack costs $7.99 alone or you can get a bundle with the Animal Crossing and Zelda packs for $11.99. If you purchase the bundle you’ll also get Shy Guy and eight colors of Yoshi to use immediately.
