Mario Kart Tour Multiplayer Option Coming After A ‘Future Version Update’

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Mario Kart Tour is an online racing game, but there’s one multiplayer element that isn’t present at launch. While you can (and will) be racing against strangers’ data, the option to take on real people isn’t ready just yet. However, it is on the way. If you look in the main menu, the Multiplayer icon has “inbound” on top of it. (Thanks, @VOOK64!)

Selecting the Mario Kart Tour Multiplayer icon brings up a brief message. It reads, “Available in a future version update.” There are no details about what it could entail. However, for people who may want to prepare, you can already start adding people to a friends list in-game after making progress.

Mario Kart Tour is now available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
