Rumors surrounding the possible announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 4’s reveal have been making waves over the past week, and the latest comes from Polygon, claiming that the game will be announced at PlayStation Experience 2016.
The report comes from Polygon’s “multiple sources” that say Marvel vs. Capcom 4 will be revealed at the Capcom Cup tournament during PlayStation Experience this weekend and it’s in development for a 2017 release. According to the website, the fourth installment of the popular crossover fighter will focus more on the Marvel films instead of the comic books as we’ve seen in the past, meaning we’ll see more from The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and so on.
Again, it goes without saying that this should be taken with a grain of salt as with any other rumor. Looking back, we’ve seen some rather convincing “leaks” with Baiken for Guilty Gear Xrd and the Nintendo Switch in recent history, so let’s not forget that some things can sound too good to be true.
Thanks for keeping the love for the game going! I would love to make #mvc4, but nothing’s happening on that front. RT @PG_Erdogan @JWonggg N

For what it’s worth, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds producer Ryota Niitsuma shared the above message when asked about the rumors surrounding Marvel vs. Capcom 4.
On the other hand, Yoshinori Ono also recently talked about how they “actually never said that a new character was coming at all [to Street Fighter V]” and that it’ll be something that “betrays everyone’s expectations, in a good way,” so there’s also the chance that it was actually a teaser for the crossover fighter.
In any case, we’ll find out whether these rumors are true come this weekend during the PlayStation Experience on December 3-4, so the wait shouldn’t be too long until we hear of a possible new Mahvel.
