Today is April 1st, and as you all know, there’s been plenty of tricks being played out by various developers and publishers. Marvelous had one for Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki’s upcoming PS Vita brawler, Uppers.
For this little April Fools’ prank, Marvelous had the official website feature the above image, showing an all-girls cast and one guy, the opposite of what they have going in Uppers.
They also changed the name to “Oppais” which basically means “boobs” in eloquent Takaki fashion. They also changed the genre from “Full Beat ‘em Up-Style Mote Mote (well-liked, popular, sexy) Action” to “Full Beat ‘em Up-Style Mochi Mochi (descriptive word for squishy) Action.”
While the whole “Oppais” thing was a joke, Marvelous updated the official website with something that is very much real, and that would be the Senran Kagura-themed pre-order DLC bonus shirts for the Queens that will cheer you on. You can get a closer look at those, here.
Uppers will release in Japan on July 14, 2016 for PlayStation Vita. The game’s second playable demo is currently available on the Japanese PlayStation Store.
