During an investors Q&A, Marvelous briefly spoke about plans for the next term. The publisher plans to release about the same number of games in Japan as they did this year, which was nine titles.
This is includes Nintendo 3DS games and Marvelous has "several" of those in the pipeline. The only one with a release window is Animal Resort, a quirky zoo simulation game. Marvelous has a minimum budget of 70 million yen ($836,000) for each 3DS title with 150 million yen ($1.8 million) set as the maximum.
Fielding a question about multiplatform PS3/Wii games, a representative from Marvelous said Rune Factory: Oceans was originally just for Wii. After analyzing the market, Marvelous decided to make a PlayStation 3 version too. The respondent didn’t specifically state any other multiplatform plans, but Marvelous will look at the target audience for each specific title.
