The latest episode of Masahiro Sakurai’s YouTube show involves him ending it with a mention about a console port of Kid Icarus: Uprising. He does not confirm or deny one is on the way. However, he mentioned how it would be “nice” to be able to play it.
Here’s Sakurai’s full quote from the end of the episode.
It sure would be nice to play Kid Icarus: Uprising on a home console. I wonder if someone out there will ever port it?
The reason why the game came up is this episode of Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games is about The Fiend’s Cauldron difficulty mechanic found in the 3DS game. He discusses how instead of a more traditional easy/normal/hard difficulty option, the game lets someone set the intensity. People can pour hearts to raise the intensity and stakes. It’s a risk/reward system that can mean more hearts and weapons if someone takes the chance.
