The people of the world have been forced into shelters by an alien threat, with humanity all but wiped out, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for some carefully-considered mecha customization in Mass Builder, a game of 3D combat using player-crafted machines.
As leader of a mercenary group, players will guide their group of armorers, builders, programmers, and operators through research and development of mecha and mecha parts. This group, through connections with other organizations across the fractured world, will fight back against the alien attackers that have left the planet in shambles.
Players are in charge of designing the mecha they’ll be using to beat those aliens, customizing each aspect to their own battle plan and the look they desire. Players are able to adjust frame sizes, fiddling with joint proportions and heights before adding armored plates onto each portion of the metal body. There are thirty-eight different armor parts that players can customize with individual pieces, creating a mecha that looks just how they like.
Weapons can also be customized in Mass Builder. Melee weapons are divided into grips and assaulters, dictating fighting stances and types of damage, with firearms customized through barrels and triggers dictating types of shots and the firearm’s properties. Launchers can also be attached on the mecha’s frame for more firepower, but the added weight can affect combat capabilities and speed when taken out for a mission.
Mass Builder is currently building up development funding on IndieGogo, with a demo available through its campaign page.
