First, here is a list of characters that you will immediately start the game with. This means you do not need to unlock them through the use of Crewmate Cards or through story progression.

  • Eugen (Earth)
  • Gran/Djeeta (Wind)
  • Io (Light)
  • Katalina (Water)
  • Rackam (Fire)
  • Rosetta (Dark)

This is honestly a pretty solid line-up of characters you get off the start, with Katalina providing great support alongside the player character. Rackam and Eugen provide great ranged support and attack, with Io and Rosette filling the roles of your party’s casters.

More than a handful of characters can be recruited and will be available to join your party. However you will need Crewmate Cards in order to unlock these characters. Below is a list of all available playable characters, including one secret character, that you can unlock through story progression.

  • Cagliostro (Earth)
  • Charlotta (Light)
  • Ferry (Light)
  • Ghandagoza (Fire)
  • Lancelot (Water)
  • Narmaya (Dark)
  • Percival (Fire)
  • Siegfried (Earth)
  • Vane (Water)
  • Vaseraga (Dark)
  • Yodarha (Wind)
  • Zeta (Fire)

Keep in mind that elemental weaknesses are very much a thing in Granblue Fantasy Relink, and you will want to take advantage of this as you get into content available later in the game. For example, Fire is weak to Water, which means that if a Fire Element boss is giving you trouble, you should consider taking Water characters like Lancelot and Vane with you. Especially since leveling up characters is relatively easy, and grinding is a good thing to do for weapon enhancement materials and Sigil enhancement materials.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available on the PS4 and PS5.
