Arc System Works recently revealed their latest Nintendo 3DS mystery visual novel with Ghost Detective: Shida’s Ayakashi Case Book, where you’ll find yourself investigating supernatural cases related to yokai. Here’s a look at the game’s three main characters.
Shida Mori:
Shida is a young owner of an antique shop called “Kitanidou,” located in the back alleys of Asakusa. On the side, he’s also known as a “Ghost Detective” who takes on all kinds of strange cases. These cases usually have something to do with ghosts, and he often tackles them with his partner Shiho and Shiro.
While Shida handles all kinds of mysterious cases that go beyond reason, his main way of investigating is through science. He also likes aburaage (deep-fried tofu).
Shiho Kitakitani:
Shiho is a staff at Shida’s antique store, and also a member of the Ghost Detectives. She’s an older sister-figure to Shida, and often takes care of him. Shida also happens to be her fiancée, chosen by her parents.
She can often be seen scolding Shiro the cat for his pranks and shows a lot of her tomboy-ish side, but she also has some homely qualities, such as her ability to cook. Shiho cares about Shida more than anything.
Shiro:
Shiro is a white cat who sticks around Shida. While he may look like a pet cat, he actually changes into a human-like figure when it’s time to seal ghosts. When they’re not ghost-hunting, Shiro likes to play pranks, which is often followed by a scolding from Shiho.
Ghost Detective: Shida’s Ayakashi Case Book will be released on March 26, 2014 through the Nintendo eShop on 3DS for 800 yen.
