On October 6, Metal Gear Online, the online multiplayer portion of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, will be available for console owners. The PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One will all be able to download an add-on that allows access to the additional feature.

However, the update download is already live on the Japanese PlayStation Store for Sony’s systems. PlayStation 4 owners will have a 913MB download awaiting them. The PlayStation 3’s file is a third the size, coming in at 377MB. Neither add-on is currently available for North American or European PlayStation 3s or PlayStation 4s.

Metal Gear Online allows people to take part in massive battles with other Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain owners. Those with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will be able to participate in 12 player matches, while those with a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will have 16 player matches awaiting. The Windows PC version of the game will get access to the mode in January 2016.
