Camouflaj is bringing its iOS and Android episodic stealth adventure game République to PC for Windows and Mac as République Remastered on February 26th. It is a complete overhaul of the original game as it has been remastered in Unity 5 and, in fact, will be the first commercial game released using Unity 5.
République Remastered follows a young woman called Hope as she tries to escape from an oppressive, Orwellian state. Using a stolen phone, she contacts you and asks you to guide her by using the surveillance systems to sneak past patrols and solve puzzles.
It features the voice talent of Jennifer Hale (Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series) as Hope’s mentor Mireille Prideaux, and David Hayter (Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series) as Zager, who is a “revolutionary and ghost in the political machine.”
République is the first game from Camouflaj, which is a studio comprised of plenty of talent, too. Its founder, Ryan Payton, was the creative director of Halo 4 and the producer of Metal Gear Solid 4. Others on the team previously worked on games including F.E.A.R., Red Dead Redemption, and S.O.C.O.M.
République Remastered will be available to purchase as a Standard Edition for $24.99 on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store on the 26th. That includes Episode 1: Exordium, Episode 2: Metamorphosis, and Episode 3: Ones and Zeroes of République, as well as pre-orders for the upcoming Episode 4: God’s Acre and Episode 5: Terminus.
A Deluxe Edition will also be available for $34.99. It will include everything in the Standard Edition, but adds the soundtrack, an hour-long making of documentary, and two early prototypes (exclusive to the PC version). Both Editions of République Remasterd will have a 20 percent discount during the launch period.
