Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Releasing on PS4

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 due to popular demand from fans, announced Konami on August 21, 2023. Originally, it wasn’t among the four consoles announced for the collection at launch.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection was announced during the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase, where it was revealed it would be coming to the PlayStation 5. Konami later announced there would be a Switch version during the June 2023 Nintendo Direct.

The collection will include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear, and Metal Gear 2. The Master Collection will also come with bonus content including:

  • Digital Screenplay Book: A comprehensive collection of cutscene dialogue, briefing files, and scripts
  • Digital Master Book: A collection of tidbits, quotes, strategy guides, maps, hidden item locations, and more
  • Metal Gear (NES version/FC version)
  • Snake’s Revenge
  • Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Digital Graphic Novel
  • Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack

The MGS franchise has had a few different collections release over the years, the most recent one being the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection which released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 featuring the first two Metal Gear games, the first three Metal Gear Solid games released on the PS2, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 will appear on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 version release date is currently to be determined. However, it will appear on the other four platforms on October 24, 2023.
