Back when Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released, Konami confirmed that the Windows PC version of Metal Gear Solid Online wouldn’t be available until 2016. People waiting to play can begin tonight. The beta should begin at 10pm PT.

To participate, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain owners will need to opt in to the Metal Gear Online beta. To do so, go to Properties in Steam, then choose to opt-in to the upcoming beta test. You’ll then receive the beta as part of a Metal Gear Solid V update tonight.

The Metal Gear Online beta test is designed to help improve the play experience for the online component’s official launch. This test will consist of stress testing for servers and bug testing.

Konami has yet to announce when the full version of  Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s Metal Gear Online will be available for Windows PCs. Everyone should ideally be able to play Metal Gear Online by this time on January 13.
