Dennaton, developers of gory top-down action game Hotline Miami, have officially approved fan mod Midnight Animal for release. The standalone mod will be available for free on Steam, ModDB, and Itch.io on August 18, 2016.
Midnight Animal takes place thirty years after the events of Hotline Miami 2. It will feature brand new masks that significantly change how levels play, sometimes by unlocking unique weapons. It also offers sixty available weapons, including many environmental weapons like bricks in piles of debris, pool cues attached to the wall, and shovels and hammers in utility closets.
The game will also feature a new soundtrack, one that features many of the artists from the original game.
