Miles Edgeworth, who played a prominent role as Phoenix Wright’s main rival in the first three installments of the franchise, will be returning in Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies as a chief prosecutor, eight years after the events of Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations. Scenario director Takeshi Yamazaki talks about the elegant prosecutor in the latest episode of Capcom’s character introduction video series.
In Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Miles Edgeworth will be appearing as one of the highest-ranked and most respected prosecutors in the series. According to Yamazaki, the crew have consulted amongst each other to figure out how they can bring out a more mature look in the prosecutor’s return, and have gone through several designs.
In the end, they came up with what the scenario director considers to be a more “gorgeous” look for Miles, having added more details to his design. The addition that stands out the most, however, is the new pair of glasses he’s sporting.
Yamazaki shares that it’s not simply a fashion statement, but something he actually needs now that he’s doing a lot more deskwork as the new chief prosecutor, which they believe is perfectly fitting for his character. He’ll also have new animations to go with his glasses in the upcoming game.
While we still don’t know what role Edgeworth will be playing in Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Yamazaki hopes fans look forward to seeing him back in the action.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is slated for release on July 25th in Japan and this Fall in the West on Nintendo 3DS.
