Last year, Konami followed the footsteps of Namco Bandai and Square Enix by turning one of their key franchises into a social game.

Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops stood out from other social games because it was shown with full 3D graphics and just like other Metal Gear games you could sneak around the battlefield. Boss fights were different because they played like a card game, this was made by GREE after all.

Konami will shut down Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops on December 13, the publisher has announced. The game launched on December 4, 2012 so it was around for about a year. That is longer than some social games like Wizardlings from Square Enix, but not as long as most GREE or Mobage titles with a popular franchise.
