A new puzzle game has made its debut on PCs, and it involves dropping blocks, thinking clearly about where their pieces would best fit, and keeping an eye on gravity. Mixolumia puts you on a board shaped like a crystal and drops 2×2 cubes from the top. Your goal is to line up each cube’s parts to eliminate lines of three or more pieces to eliminate them.
There are multiple modes, so someone can take their time learning or potentially challenge themselves. Relaxed seems like it could be a way to get a grasp on the concepts, while modes like Endless, Intense, Marathon, and Rush would push your matching and critical thinking skills.
Here’s a video of Mixolumia in action. If you pay close attention, you can see how matching a line of three or more cubes of the same color and design can eliminate them, boost your score, and trigger massive chain reactions.
This is also a customizable puzzle game. You can change how it looks, for example. There are default color palettes, with one even taking on classic Game Boy hues. You can also make your own. It is also possible to use its dynamic music system to create and remix the songs you’ll hear as you play.
Mixolumia is available for PCs on Itch.io for $10.
