Speaking at an investor’s Q&A session, Shigeru Miyamoto gave us an update on Pikmin.

“For the time being, among the present arrangements, completing Pikmin quickly, thus our project is progressing quite favorably,” Miyamoto answered when asked about creating new games.
Miyamoto also said he was told not to speak about his hobbies by the company’s president. When Miyamoto said he got a cat discussion sprung up about Nintendogs + Cats before it was announced.
Back to the original question, new games. “I think next year I can probably deliver something new,” Miyamoto said. Pikmin, one of Miyamoto’s new series, was made over ten years ago. “I think this is the year I can make a new character,” Miyamoto added.
