Mobile Suit Gundam AGE RPG Has Real Time Battles

Level-5 unveiled their Mobile Suit Gundam AGE game at Level-5 World, but it wasn’t playable. The Gundam area had a real-time demo, which began with series protagonist Flit Asuno running around a town talking to people. I kind of got a Dragon Quest IX vibe from the graphic style and the way Flint ran, but I’m pretty sure the game won’t have any slimes. While you’re running on the field, a radar lets you know if enemies are close by.

Flit jumped into the AGE-1 model Gundam and then the demo jumped right into combat. Mobile Suit Gundam AGE has real time battles where the AGE-1 can punch and shoot another mobile suit. There were two meters HP and Boost in the lower left hand corner. Each character can carry at least two weapons, which players could switch on the fly. The classic beam rifle was one of the items Flit equipped. A Dodd’s rifle was the other.

The eyes-on demo ended after the fight so we’ll have to wait for Namco Bandai to reveal more about the PSP game at a later date. Mobile Suit Gundam AGE is slated for release in summer 2012.
