The new title announcement during the Gundam Games 40th Anniversary stream turned out to be Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 for the PS5 and PC. It is in development. When it launches, it will be free-to-play, just like the second entry in the series.
The Steam page and official site are both live for this newest entry in the series. A Base Camp hub will be present, and the online multiplayer compatibility means cross-play will be possible between PS5 and PC Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 players. Your goal will be to help your team take relay points and enemy bases while protecting your own. Both mechs and infantry will be usable, and there will be SP Skills to use to turn the tide. The team with the most points by the end of the match wins. Chinese, English, and Japanese audio are confirmed, and the subtitles will also include Korean as a language option.
Here’s the first announcement trailer for the game from the presentation. It shows what the infantry portion will look like in addition to combat with the Gundams.
Bandai Namco does tend to support entries in this series for quite a while. The original installment was live between June 2012 and July 2017. Then, the second one debuted in Japan in July 2018 and worldwide in October 2019 and still sees support.
