Monolith Soft confirmed its involvement in the development of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time now that the Switch 2 remake launched. The studio took to social media to announce it worked on the title. It worked alongside Entertainment Planning & Development Department (EPD) Production Group 3 at Nintendo, which the company shared created the game in an Ask the Developer interview series.
The Monolith Soft statement on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake turned out to be quite brief. However, the company did note it supported the main team. Some of the three areas it mentioned being involved in were “game design, programming, and graphics.” It didn’t point to any specifics, however.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake marks the second Switch 2 game where Monolith Soft supported Nintendo. It also worked on Splatoon Raiders. In that social media statement, it specifically referenced art.
In addition to providing support on those two games, Monolith Soft’s been working a lot on the Xenoblade series lately. We saw Switch 2 Upgrade Packs for the three Xenoblade Chronicles games, with the one for the third entry showing up in December 2026. Xenoblade Genesis is expected to launch in 2027.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can be found on the Switch 2. Other versions also showed up on platforms like the N64, GameCube, and 3DS.
