Monster Hunter Bar Will Open Permanently in Osaka

This will be the second permanent Monster Hunter bar that Capcom has set up in Japan. After previously offering real-life reproductions of Monster Hunter World‘s Chef’s Choice Platter at a temporary bar in Tokyo in late 2018, Capcom eventually opened its first permanent bar in Akihabara in 2020. Likewise, the Western branch in Osaka had multiple sporadic temporary appearances before Capcom settled with a permanent spot.

The new Osaka branch will have a playing spot where people can enjoy Monster Hunter World: Iceborne multiplayer co-op sessions with preset accounts on the PlayStation 4. It will also feature five exclusive meals and drinks that people cannot find in the Akihabara bar. The bar will also actually use zenny as its currency, although people can pay the amount in Japanese yen.

Here is the menu list, along with the prices in zenny/yen and the converted US dollar prices with the exchange rate on February 29, 2024:

  • Arch-Tempered Xeno’jiiva drink: 880 zenny (~$5.88)
  • Arch-Tempered Lunastra drink: 880 zenny (~$5.88)
  • Downy Crake potato salad: 935 zenny (~$6.25)
  • Risen Teostra explosive tantanmen noodles: 1,320 zenny (~$8.83)
  • Velkhana cheese risotto: 1,320 zenny (~$8.83)

Hunters Bar WEST will not be the only game-themed restaurant to open at Pasela Resorts Namba Dotonbori. The same facility is also hosting a Final Fantasy-themed Eorzea Cafe, which has been operating on the fifth floor since 2017.

The Monster Hunter-themed Hunters Bar WEST will open in Osaka, Japan, on Friday, March 1, 2024.
