Nikkei’s TrendyNet asked Capcom’s CEO a question for fans of Monster Hunter in the West. Is Capcom planning a Western version of the game?
“The Xbox 360 is very popular in the West, worldwide expansion is possible if we can clear up some of the issues,” Haruhiro Tsujimoto responded in a Nikkei interview. “Development is possible.” The issues Tsujimoto mentioned are service issues, infrastructure problems, and analyzing PC user trends. Monster Hunter Frontier Online was originally released as a PC game in Japan and other countries in Asia.
Capcom have not produced an English version yet. Like Monster Hunter Tri, Monster Hunter Frontier Online has a monthly fee in Japan. In addition to a Hunter Life code, players also need an Xbox Live Gold subscription. In Japan, the Monster Hunter Frontier Beginners pack bundles a years worth of Xbox Live with a thirty day Hunter Life card, and the game.
