Monster Hunter Suumo Collaboration Shows Ideal Homes for Monsters

A new series of ads in Japan will translate the Monster Hunter monsters’ habitats into ideal house-hunting criteria. Capcom is working with Recruit Co., Ltd. to produce special collaboration ads that pair the Monster Hunter franchise with the latter’s real estate searching website Suumo. These ads will appear at several train stations in Japan for a limited time in February 2024.

These are the monsters who will be featured in the ads, along with their ideal home criteria:

  • Felyne: A house facing south to maximize natural lighting with underfloor storage and a reheatable bathtub, managed by an administrator who also allows pets.
  • Khezu: A barrier-free designer-style corner apartment with a soundproof room.
  • Rajang: The penthouse of a high-rise condominium with a soundproof room and an allowance to place musical instruments.
  • Rathalos: A move-in ready house with a balcony, underfloor heating, and CCTV cameras installed, with DIY projects also allowed.
  • Zinogre: A fully electrified standalone house with furnished appliances and an allowance to share the rooms with Thunderbugs.

These unique ads will be available to view at the following points in specific train stations in Tokyo and Osaka:

  • Shinjuku Station – Metro Promenade
  • Shibuya Station – B2 floor, outside the Den-en-toshi Line ticketing gate
  • Ikebukuro Station – Nearby the northern pathway outside the JR East ticketing gate
  • Osaka Umeda Station – 2nd floor of the JR passageway

The Suumo collaboration ads will appear as one of the numerous projects made to celebrate the Monster Hunter series’ 20th anniversary, which falls in 2024. MSI revealed laptops and PC parts with the franchise’s motif at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2024. Takara Tomy has also opened pre-orders for special crossover Zoids model kits based on Magnamalo and Rathalos. Capcom will wrap up the anniversary year by releasing the new mainline entry Monster Hunter Wilds for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2025.

The Monster Hunter Suumo collaboration ads will appear at select train stations in Tokyo and Osaka for a limited time on February 5-11, 2024.
