Monster Hunter Wilds First Gameplay Trailer Appears

During the latest May 2024 State of Play, Capcom revealed new information about Monster Hunter Wilds with the game’s first gameplay trailer. The next title in the epic hunting franchise will take players to a new location and offer new mechanics, as well as brand-new monsters to fight against.

The trailer showcased a variety of new monsters, as well as showing the new ridable monster accompanying the playable hunter. New moves from the greatsword and bowgun weapon were also shown. Capcom also revealed that felyne armor and weapon sets will be available in MH Wilds for players with saved data from MH World, and the MH World: Iceborn expansion.

The game was originally revealed in December 2023 during the latest The Game Awards 2023 show. The reveal trailer showed a brief glimpse of exploration, with the player hunter riding a monster through a sandy environment and gliding in the air. The new title seems like it will follow the style of Monster Hunter World, while including some of the mobility mechanics introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, and has a release window set for 2025.
