During gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live, Capcom announced a Final Fantasy crossover for Monster Hunter Wilds, which will bring FFXIV inspired characters to the game like a Chocobo Seikret replacement. It will appear in September 2025. This suggests it could come after free Title Update 3, which is set for late September 2025. There will also be a FFXIV in-game event tied to the game, and that will arrive in October 2025.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, we’ll see a Chocobo replace a Seikret, a Cactaur appeared, and Omega Planetes turned up as a crossover fight.
As for FFXIV, we got to see some of the Monster Hunter Wilds elements headed to that game. Arkveld, the signature flagship monster for the entry, will appear as an enemy. The Seikret will show up as a mount. A Palico like the one from that installment appeared too.
Naoki Yoshida also referenced the past Monster Hunter World crossover with the MMORPG. That involved Rathalos being added as a fight. As a reminder, here’s how that looked:
Monster Hunter Wilds is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, Final Fantasy XIV is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and we’ll see the crossover events appear in September and October 2025.
