The official announcement confirmed that, functionally, the Switch 2 version of the Monster Hunter Wilds demo won’t be all that different from the one that already appeared for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. It still covers the introduction of the game. You can make save files, which then carry over if you do buy the title when it launches. The Photo Mode isn’t present. Also, while local multiplayer option will be available to test in this trial for Monster Hunter Wilds, the Switch 2 version also won’t offer any online support just like the one for the other consoles or the PC.

Capcom also said that people will be able to place a pre-order via the eShop on October 19, 2026. At the moment, you can visit the product page for it. The option to buy is greyed out.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Switch 2 release date is December 4, 2026, and the Prologue Demo will launch on October 19, 2026. The game is already on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Ascendance expansion is also in development, and we’ll see that in 2027 on every platform.
