Monster Hunter: World Sales Surpass 20 Million Units Worldwide

Monster Hunter World Sales

Capcom announced that sales for Monster Hunter: World have officially passed 20 million units worldwide. This includes sales for Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition. Capcom acknowledges that the success of Monster Hunter: World is due in part to the release of the Iceborne expansion. Monster Hunter: World remains Capcom’s best selling title to date.

As of March 2020, sales for the Monster Hunter: World expansion, Iceborne, had surpassed 5 million units worldwide. This included both physical and digital sales of the title across the numerous platforms it released on. And as of January 2020, total sales for the Monster Hunter series sat at 61 million units in sales worldwide.

However, with the release of Monster Hunter Rise, sales for the series have increased significantly. Monster Hunter Rise became Capcom’s best selling single-platform title in April 2021. Additionally, Capcom has plans to release an expansion for Monster Hunter Rise. The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion will release in Summer 2022.

This expansion will feature the return of fan favorite monsters, and feature an entirely new Elder Dragon known as the Malzeno. Additionally, the expansion will add in new areas, a new hunting hub, and new hunting actions. Master Rank will also arrive through the expansion.

Monster Hunter World is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
