002 Capcom shared new screenshots to give us a closer look at Monster Hunter: World’s character creation system as well as some info on “Special Equipment” that will help out on the hunt.   004 In Monster Hunter: World you’ll get to take advantage of various customization options to make your own Hunter. Capcom is preparing a vast number of parts and presets to make it possible for countless ways to make your own character with the game’s character creation system.   006 007 The Palicoes that support you on the hunt can also be created in the same way.   008 There are “Special Equipment” in Monster Hunter: World  that help out with special effects that can be used as items. Keep in mind that they come with cooldowns so you’ll want to use them when they’re needed. The above is a look at the Ghillie Mantle that lets you hide from monsters for a short period of time. Its effect goes away when you attack or take damage.   009 The Rocksteady Mantle protects its user from damage reaction, wind effects, roars, and tremors. It also reduces the damage taken. So that means a Bogun-user can feel more confident about taking on a Pukei-Pukei without worrying too much about getting hit by a tongue attack.   010 The Challenger Mantle makes it so that the monsters target you more so that you can take them to preferred locations. This effect goes away once you take an attack. The mantle will certainly come in handy when you want to take a monster to a wider area or into a trap, and other parts that might come in handy.   011 Lastly, we have the Glider Mantle that increases your jump time and lets you ride the winds in certain areas, making it useful for travel. It also comes with an effect that makes it easier to mount monsters with a Jump Attack. You can find places with strong winds for faster travel.   Monster Hunter: World launches worldwide on January 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version arrives later. Check out our previous report for a look at some 4-player co-op action against a Barroth and Diablos.
