According to Famitsu, Monster Hunter: World has sold 1.35 million units in Japan in three days since its launch in January 26, 2018. With digital sales included, Famitsu estimates its figures to be over 2 million units. The game is now the best-selling PlayStation 4 title in Japan.
As expected, Monster Hunter: World helped boost PlayStation 4 sales by over triple the amount, going from 44,910 units the previous week to 140,432 units sold in Japan (with PlayStation 4 Pro units included). This is the second highest sales week in Japan after its launch week of February 17 – 23, 2017 when it sold 322,083 units.
The above graph gives us a look at weekly sales performances of the PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, going back to November 2017. According to Famitsu’s tracker data, the PlayStation 4 is sitting at a life-to-date sales of 6,187, 000 units sold in Japan.
Monster Hunter: World is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version is expected to release in Fall 2018.
