After Monster Rancher Neo, Tecmo moved the Monster Rancher series from consoles to handhelds. My favorite part about the Monster Rancher games was digging through CDs and DVDs in search of a deadly Suezo, which was lost in the transition.

So, I asked Koichi Yamaguchi, Producer of Monster Rancher DS at Tecmo, if we’ll ever see a Monster Rancher game on consoles. “I believe and hope we will have a chance to bring the series to a console in the future… I will be very sad if it doesn’t happen,” Yamaguchi replied.

“However, it might be slightly different methodology on the console than what everyone would imagine it would be.”

Yamaguchi gave us a hint about it and described the different ways players can create monsters in Monster Rancher DS during our interview. Check back for it soon.
