On April Fools’ Day 2024, Moonstone Island developers Studio Supersoft joked that there would be Fishbo inspired “Fishbolutions” for other Spirits in the game. Now, due to the response to the joke, it looks like they are being implemented into the game.
First, here’s the actual April Fools’ Day joke. The developer said if the trailer got 1,000 likes, it would actually make it happen.
On April 2, 2024, the social media account updated with an “uh oh” message, suggesting it would happen.
Now on April 3, 2024, it seems progress is being made on creating Fishbolution Spirits for Moonstone Island. So far, only Flambit and Wolfbane versions seem to be done. It is unknown how many Spirits could get this treatment and when we could end up seeing them implemented into the game via a patch.
Fishbo has become one of the mascots for Moonstone Island. So much so that a plush was actually made. On Makeship, a campaign started in October 2023 and resulted in stuffed versions of the characters shipping out in 2024. That toy ended up selling out.
Moonstone Island is available on PCs, and it will also eventually come to the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024.
