More obscure PS1 games find a second life

There are two things I like about the Playstation 3 to PSP download service in Japan cheap games and Sony bringing back obscure titles from the PS1’s library. Before Media Vision became known for creating Wild ARMs they released a Gunners Heaven, a PS1 launch title in Japan that bears similarities with Treasure’s Gunstar Heroes. The game is side scrolling shooter where you have to constantly pick up power-ups to refill the timer in the center of the screen. If the timer runs out your gun becomes worthless and you’re doomed. There is a sense of constant time pressure to shoot fast and run through levels that isn’t seen in many games. Because it’s 2D SCEA passed up the project and it never saw a US release. Galaxy Fight is a fighting game made by Sunsoft way before they created Waku Waku 7. I don’t remember Galaxy Fight being anything special, but that’s what makes it a surprising that it’s getting on the list instead of Tekken 3 or Battle Arena Toshinden.
