Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists will have a bunch of characters with over 100 from past titles, and players will get to decide how to put them to use for town-building.
Here’s a look at some footage that was shared at TGS 2018:
The gameplay footage shows various buildings that come with character icons. These indicate where the characters live. Characters are assigned to different buildings, where they’ll perform their work and help build the town bits at a time. You’ll also get to view the town in 3D to check out the many types of buildings of your own Atelier town.
Since there are many characters in the game, you’ll need to decide for yourself how each one is used and in order to get the best results. The best part for fans is that you’ll get to see all kinds of interactions between all the characters that you won’t get to see anywhere else.
As for battles it is more simplified compared to the regular Atelier games, but it still has some depth with a focus on high-tempo battles.
In case you missed it, Gust announced that as part of the company’s 25th anniversary, Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists will feature guests from past classic titles with characters from Story of King Ares, Welcome House, Noir Yeux Noire (Kuroi Hitomi no Noire), and Surge Concerto: Ciel nosurge.
Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World releases in Japan on December 13, 2018. The game releases in the West this winter for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
