Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, the final movie and conclusion to the series, has made over 82 million yen during its first day at the Japanese box office. The total revenue for the first day was shared through the official Studio Khara Twitter account. Additionally, total ticket sales for the first day were revealed. As it stands, a total of  539,623 tickets were sold for Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+10 during its first day at the box office. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

A more precise number regarding total revenue for the first day is ¥82,774,200 or $761,617. The official Studio Khara Twitter notes that this “is a good start,” and that the numbers so far are very good.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time is the last movie in the Neon Genesis Evangelion series. It serves as a conclusion to the events of the series itself. The movie had seen numerous delays upon its initial announcement. The film was scheduled to release last year, but was set back due to concerns regarding COVID-19. The film has finally seen release, and with that the story of the EVA pilots now comes to a close.
