It’s been revealed by fans who attended the KanColle Jazz Festival that the shipgirl series is getting a new anime project, and it apparently features Shigure as a main character. [Thanks, Otakomu.] According to the concert attendees, at the end of the event it was revealed that the KanColle anime is getting a new anime project. A fan over at Reddit shared additional details, including its makers as Studio Engi, a new animation studio established by Kadokawa in April 2018. Several attendees also mentioned that it wasn’t specified whether it is a new anime season or movie. A release date was not announced. Kantai Collection’s first anime aired from January to March 2015. It had a sequel film titled KanColle: The Movie which released in November 2016.
