Management is shaking up a bit at Capcom. The company shared a press release announcing a difference in the way it handles the heads of its Business Division. At the moment, Kiichiro Urata is Managing Corporate Office Head of Americas & Europe Business Division. As of August 31, 2021, Yoshinori Ishida will become Capcom Managing Corporate Officer Head of Global Business Division.
At the moment, Ishida is a Managing Corporate Officer at Capcom, but only Head of Japan & Asia Business Division. This move means that the Americas & Europe Business Division and Japan & Asia Business Division will be united under one person.
Ishida is currently a Managing Corporate Officer, but also held other roles in the company working on various games over the years. For example, he was involved in the production of both Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. Ishida also was involved in Product Management for Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 4.
As for Urata, his LinkedIn noted he acted as Managing Corporate Officer Head of Global Business Division for Capcom since September 2011. Prior to that, he was a Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business & Strategy Corporate Officer for Microsoft.
The changes in Capcom management will go into effect on August 31, 2021.
