This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reports that Azai Nagamasa and his wife Oichi, will be Sengoku Basara 4, along with a new character by the name of Kyogoku Maria.
Azai Nagamasa and his wife Oichi both made their debut in Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, and will be returning in the fourth installment of the game. Kyogoku Maria is known for being Azai’s elder sister, who has the ability to freely control cloth. According to the magazine report, she’ll have the ability to bring out a giant veil from the heavens above.
Just in case you’re wondering why Azai Nagamasa will be returning after he was confirmed dead in Sengoku Basara 3, the fourth game takes place just before the Sengoku period, and will also feature a “what if” history mode, so it’ll be interesting to see how things turn out for the characters.
After progressing through and meeting certain conditions in the Alternate History Mode, you’ll be able to unlock a special “Drama Route”. Additionally, there will also be special events that can be viewed only by pairing specific commanders together.
Finally, Famitsu also reveals that Sengoku Basara 4 will be adding a branched “Anime Route” for Shibata Katsuie.
Sengoku Basara 4 will be available for PlayStation 3 on January 23, 2014.
