Shogakukan has announced that a new chapter for the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga will appear in the 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday on July 23, 2025. This will also mark the return of the manga series after having a lengthy hiatus in the first half of 2025.
The latest chapter of the manga before this announcement was Chapter 140. Shogakukan formally published the chapter online on Sunday Webry on January 8, 2025. The last page of this chapter has a footnote stating that the series would go on a hiatus from the following manga magazine issue.
In addition, the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End section on Sunday Webry only has the first three chapters and the latest chapter available to read publicly in Japanese. Once the new Chapter 141 has appeared, the preceding Chapter 140 will no longer be available for free.
An anime adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has also appeared, and its first season is available to watch via Crunchyroll. However, the second season is not expected to arrive until 2026. For the meantime, FuRyu is working to release miniature replicas of Frieren’s staff in Japan in October 2025.
The new Chapter 141 for the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga will be available on July 23, 2025.
