Masahiko Sato is a professor at Tokyo University and a video game creator. Sato is one of the brains behind Intelligent Qube, an early PsOne game where players set traps for approaching cubes while dramatic music plays in the background.

Sato’s most recent game, Influence, also involves cubes. This time players use influence to make them disappear. Influence spreads to the panels next to you and the floor underneath. Use too much and cubes might pop up on the other side.

Sony released Influence as an 800 yen ($9) downloadable game on May 27 in Japan. While Influence hasn’t been announced anywhere else, it seems like Sony is going to release the puzzle game overseas. Influence popped up in the ESRB as a PSP and PlayStation 3 game. Huh, that’s interesting Influence was only a PSP title in Japan.
