HoYoVerse teased two of the 4.0 Honkai: Star Rail characters, and they are Sparxie and Yao Guang. Both are five-star units, with Sparxie being a variant of Sparkle. As the 3.8 version lasts longer than usual, we won’t see either of them until February 14, 2026. It also appears they may show up in the story following the latest Trailblaze Mission stop in Penacony.
Yao Guang is another Xianzhou character, though she’s a general and Seer Strategist on the Xianzhou Yuque. She’ll be an Elation character who deals Physical damage in-battle. She’s a contemporary of Feixiao and Jing Yuan.
Sparxie is a representative from another known faction, the Masked Fools. She’s only third character from that group we’ve seen in Honkai: Star Rail. The other two so far are the four-star Sampo and five-star Sparkle. Sparxie deals Fire damage and is an Elation character. For comparison, Sparkle was a Harmony Quantum unit.

The two current banners in the game are The Dahlia (Constance) and Firefly. Both will be available until January 7, 2026.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and we’ll see the characters Sparxie and Yao Guang once the 4.0 update arrives on February 14, 2026.
