Astro Royale is a combination of a superhero and yakuza sort of series. Hibaru Yotsurugi is the only sun of the Yotsurugi family. His father Kongo recently died, and there are multiple candidates for his successor. He heard his father’s last request as to who would succeed him, and he claims Terasu was the pick even though he was the one chosen.

After making the announcement, a major meteor shower begins. Hibaru heard that when it would pass the earth, wishing on it while holding an important item could make a wish reality. He holds his last gift from his father and wishes, “Please make me the strongest yakuza ever.” It’s then that his, and everyone else’s, world changes.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Shonen Jump series. The last manga to debut was Dear Anemonein February 2024. It appeared just ahead of Super Psychic Policeman Chojo.

Astro Royale is now running in Shonen Jump, and the new chapter of the manga will appear on April 21, 2024.
